WHAT IN PERSON, YA FOOLS
WHERE anywhere
WHEN Day 8, evening
[ it's beginning to be summer -- or something like that, sort of. late spring? the weather has been warming up is the point and in the twilight of, well, now, the fireflies have also come out.
twinkling little stars that are actually bugs. Rather, slightly larger than the normal firefly -- in fact, perhaps they seem more like will o' the wisp sized.
But still, a lovely summer. If you follow one they may lead you (crashing into) the path of someone else.
Or the lake.
Definitely also the lake. ]

[ If he hadn't said that, she'd start feeling a little down about it, but now is not the time for that. She grips his hand a little tighter for a second, like she's checking if he's really here. ]

So don't freak out or whatever.

[ Mood lift achieved. let's do the apartment
liftElevator too ]no subject
You're too easily pleased.
no subject
Sorry.
[ The elevator door opens to her apartment (hopefully) ]

People will take advantage.

[ "Nice" is a subjective term, probably. At least it's a sign no one has been blatantly hostile yet.
She'll start rummaging in the cupboard for coffee, a filter and a mug ]
Feel free to sit wherever you like.
no subject
They're probably tricking you.
[ he mills about a little aimlessly before finding a spot on the wall
To lean against ]

Why would they do that? If they need money or food, I'm fine with sharing what I have. The spiritually sensitive people I've met don't have any interest in me, so I don't think they'd try to use me in that sense.
[ Those are the big two that worry her, anyway. While she's given it some thought, other reasons she could be targeted or motives for deceiving her just don't come to mind. It's hard to think that people could be anything but inherently good. ]

[ it's not like he really wants to argue, too many words so instead he just huffs, arms crossing. ]
Who else besides the stupid horse?
[ why u gotta be like this ]
no subject
Or.
Just judgement in general.
Help her]I talked to some people in the Internet. But I don't know their real names, but they did stuff like want to cook me dinner and exchange recipes, or help with figuring out how to use my phone, or look for people to start a gun club for practice...
As for those I've met in person, Eizen is an earth spirit and seafarer who calls himself cursed, but he's actually quite nice. He helped me navigate the shopping mall when we tried to get his smart phone fixed. There's also a very smart little girl who will be my teaching partner when we give cooking lessons. Her name is Ai.
[ It sounds like Jessica wants to adopt her already ]
I've only been here for a little more than a week, so I've talked to more people than that, but I don't know them as well. Some of them are a little unusual, but I don't want to jump to conclusions, either.
[ As if her conclusion will be anything other than that they're nice. ]

. . . [ those do sound mostly normal but ] On the internet? [ what the fucko ]
Isn't that naive of you?

The kettle whistles so she'll focus on coffee making. ]
If people are anonymous online, wouldn't it make them more comfortable about being themselves?
no subject
What kind of reasoning is that.

What does anyone ever get out of lying?
no subject
[ she brings his coffee over and holds the mug out to him. Her tone eases; it's softer, more sympathetic: ]
It must be hard to keep all the lies straight after a while. Being honest is less complicated.
no subject
Don't pity them.
[ he takes the coffee, cupping both hands around the mug immediately. who needs handles. ]
no subject
[ not just about Internet people, but also about your head friend]
no subject
[ let's not. ]
Ignore them.
no subject
[ this goes double for Ayer ]

You should want to help fewer people.
no subject
That's impossible. You know I can't help myself.
Thankfully I have a very smart, well-meaning little brother to keep me in line.
no subject
[ he was going to say something else but kind of
stumbles a bit with that and ends up muttering ]
You're too troublesome and too trusting. It's annoying.
no subject
I'm sorry, you really have your work cut out for you.
[ her hands reach out to cup his ]
