WHAT IN PERSON, YA FOOLS
WHERE anywhere
WHEN Day 8, evening
[ it's beginning to be summer -- or something like that, sort of. late spring? the weather has been warming up is the point and in the twilight of, well, now, the fireflies have also come out.
twinkling little stars that are actually bugs. Rather, slightly larger than the normal firefly -- in fact, perhaps they seem more like will o' the wisp sized.
But still, a lovely summer. If you follow one they may lead you (crashing into) the path of someone else.
Or the lake.
Definitely also the lake. ]

Or.
Just judgement in general.
Help her]I talked to some people in the Internet. But I don't know their real names, but they did stuff like want to cook me dinner and exchange recipes, or help with figuring out how to use my phone, or look for people to start a gun club for practice...
As for those I've met in person, Eizen is an earth spirit and seafarer who calls himself cursed, but he's actually quite nice. He helped me navigate the shopping mall when we tried to get his smart phone fixed. There's also a very smart little girl who will be my teaching partner when we give cooking lessons. Her name is Ai.
[ It sounds like Jessica wants to adopt her already ]
I've only been here for a little more than a week, so I've talked to more people than that, but I don't know them as well. Some of them are a little unusual, but I don't want to jump to conclusions, either.
[ As if her conclusion will be anything other than that they're nice. ]

. . . [ those do sound mostly normal but ] On the internet? [ what the fucko ]
Isn't that naive of you?

The kettle whistles so she'll focus on coffee making. ]
If people are anonymous online, wouldn't it make them more comfortable about being themselves?

What kind of reasoning is that.

What does anyone ever get out of lying?

[ she brings his coffee over and holds the mug out to him. Her tone eases; it's softer, more sympathetic: ]
It must be hard to keep all the lies straight after a while. Being honest is less complicated.
no subject
Don't pity them.
[ he takes the coffee, cupping both hands around the mug immediately. who needs handles. ]

[ not just about Internet people, but also about your head friend]
no subject
[ let's not. ]
Ignore them.

[ this goes double for Ayer ]

You should want to help fewer people.
no subject
That's impossible. You know I can't help myself.
Thankfully I have a very smart, well-meaning little brother to keep me in line.
no subject
[ he was going to say something else but kind of
stumbles a bit with that and ends up muttering ]
You're too troublesome and too trusting. It's annoying.
no subject
I'm sorry, you really have your work cut out for you.
[ her hands reach out to cup his ]
no subject
'M strong enough to do it.
[ a little fidgety. Always in that trying to play it cool mode but ]
no subject
[ she closes her eyes, relaxed and allowing herself to be completely open to any potential attack, trusting that one won't come. ]
no subject
Oi. Of course I am.
[ his mutter is even lower pitched ]
So don't forget about it. I'll definitely topple the captain, too.
no subject
[ him and the Captain. Surely this won't be a problem ]
no subject
[ honestly he can't even argue cheering on danchou too but like. ]
Tch.
no subject
[ as if he needs reassurance she'd drop pretty much everyone to support him ]
no subject
You can just be quiet for once.

[ he doesn't really go red, but he hunches his shoulders, not pulling away and more relaxed about it than he would have bee... a while ago...
but it's clear also that he's embarrassed ]
no subject
I'm really glad I got to see you again.
