WHEN Day 141 & 142

[IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR. It's . . . well, time doesn't really work well here anyway, but it's been 'a while' since the last 'festive activities' so that's what's happening, right here, right now.

It's still warm enough for shorts and t-shirts, but there's also big fat snowflakes falling from the sunny sky, making piles of it that are pleasantly cool and don't seem to melt. Skating rinks! Palm trees and cacti decorated with pretty sparkly lights! Do we even have those? We do today.

Besides that, you can do whatever you want to, to get into the #mood:

Mistletoe? Mistletoe for kissing, for cuddling, for whatever?
Mysterious gifts with your name on them that turn out to be a long-lost item from your childhood?
Blankets that you get trapped under until someone joins you in there to cuddle?

Is that what that is? Well... thanks. Asgardians are hard to scar, though. I mean, it's not impossible.

[she pushes up her bracer, showing him her Valkyrie mark on the inside of her forearm]

That took magic, though.

Anyway, the thing about the shrine is it's not just for me.

They're not for the fallen. Not ones I knew, anyway.

[shrugs it off, murder, whatever. checking out her mark with an appreciative eyebrow raise]

What, you did it up for those two?

[all that first revelation gets is an "oh yeah okay" type head-tilt, that's not weird to her. but she kinda rolls her eyes at the last comment]

I didn't make it for them, I'm just... sharing.

You needed it before them, and they can drop by if they need to.

[nods]

[heading into the elevator and pressing the button]

[coming in after her, doop dee doop]

[she's quiet on the way up, but relaxed, just standing until the doors open and she can step out into her place.

which isn't even a terrible mess right now, but only because Thor came by and cleaned up after her. also the horrendous pegasus from the fair has been nailed up on the living room wall.]

[leading the way to the smaller bedroom]

[pegasus gets a snrk]

[she holds the door open and waves him into the small room.

three of the walls are painted grey, but the fourth is the same blue as her cape, and it has a huge valknut carefully made out in silver right in the middle of it. there are shelves all over the grey walls and candles all over the shelves. the window is flanked by two little plug-in stone fountains shaped like tiny circulating waterfalls. the room is otherwise bare other than some kneeler cushions on the floor and a big-ass box of matches on the windowsill. unlike the rest of her apartment, it's clearly kept carefully swept at all times.]

[stopping at the door, pointing down]

Should I take these off? Or what? How's this work?

If your boots are muddy, yeah. Otherwise it's fine. You don't have to do anything special.

[checks his shoes but shrugs and carries on (not muddy), going to sit cross legged on the cushion and duck his head for a minute]

[a bit taken aback, but... okay. sure. after a moment in the doorway she steps inside and closes the door behind her, lighting a few candles and kneeling on one of the free cushions, hands folded in her lap]

[eyes staying closed but vocalizing the last part]

And guide them to their fertile plains.

[she doesn't say anything, just stays kneeling for a few moments more before she stands up again, leaving the candles to burn down on their own when she steps out of the room]
