[IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR. It's . . . well, time doesn't really work well here anyway, but it's been 'a while' since the last 'festive activities' so that's what's happening, right here, right now.

It's still warm enough for shorts and t-shirts, but there's also big fat snowflakes falling from the sunny sky, making piles of it that are pleasantly cool and don't seem to melt. Skating rinks! Palm trees and cacti decorated with pretty sparkly lights! Do we even have those? We do today.

Besides that, you can do whatever you want to, to get into the #mood:

• Mistletoe? Mistletoe for kissing, for cuddling, for whatever?
  
• Mysterious gifts with your name on them that turn out to be a long-lost item from your childhood?
  
• Blankets that you get trapped under until someone joins you in there to cuddle?

Usually it's a Christmas thing. Which explains the snow.

[There is a long measured consideration of the package with Erik's birth name on it. Honestly, it looks like Erik's going to walk off at one point, but he eventually shoves his protein bar in his mouth in order to crouch down and rip the wrapping paper off and peek in the box . . . Then, he shuts the lid and moves to a store front with a ledge for the front window, hiding from the snow under the awning as he takes a hefty leather book out. Erik doesn't open it, just keeps rubbing his hand over the cover.]

[he looks up at it. he seems . . . a little out of it today? maybe. if she's looking for subtle differences.]

[all things considered, she usually is. it gets him a gentle poke in the ribs.

[he wrinkles his nose at her, a little flustered at the poke. w-what.]

Um—yeah. There was some . . . a few months back. It helped Mikk and I get together.
