WHAT IN PERSON
WHERE the street!
WHEN day 17, AT NIGHT

[ hey everyone -- since it was HOT and then RAINED now we have steamy night time streets, oh boy. While the humidity is awful, and the heat is back at least there is a NIGHT MARKET which is kind of cool. It has little knick knacks and prizes you can win -- goldfish, stuffed animals, so forth and so on -- as well as food, chicken on a stick, shaved ice, so forth and so on.

Have fun! Wander around! Hang out with people and win prizes!

Or, check out the FREE fortune telling machine. All you have to do is stand in front of it. . . and it will announce, rather loudly, some secret of yours. Or many secrets. Depending on how fast you get out of its line of sight.

. . . if you try to harm, destroy or mute the machine in any way you will be grabbed by security and forcibly put in time out for a little while and get a slap on the wrists. Destruction of private property is frowned upon. ]

Well, just think of it as getting it out of the way. So when you resurrect, the blood what -- disappears? Goes back into your body?
keijournal: (If you say so.)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-06 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Any part of the body cut off from the largest piece at time of death will be drawn back toward the primary piece and reassembled with the whole.

[He sounds a little like a text book, intentionally]

Anything too far from the primary piece will simply be rebuilt out of IBM.
supraliminally: (neutral -- cute face)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-06 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[that's cool we can absolutely have an academic conversation about your body]

How far is "too far"? And what happens to the parts that are too far to return?
keijournal: (pic#11384420)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-06 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The number of factors involved are too varied to ever bother figuring out exact numbers. Roughly the way it works is a demi-human can fully reform out of IBM in about ten seconds, so if it takes longer than half the time required for reformation for the lost matter to return to the body, it's just reformed instead. So for a lost limb, a couple of meters is generally the limit. If something prevents it from returning, it will 'give up' after a few seconds.

Nothing special happens to the pieces that don't return. It's just like any other spilled blood or severed limb.
supraliminally: (amused -- haha)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
And when you resurrect, the reformed body is cured of the common cold. How far does that go, exactly? Is there no scarring, even from non-fatal wounds? No genetic disorders or cancer or heart disease? Is there reversal of degeneration from aging?

I can see why the government would take an interest in you, then.
keijournal: (pic#11364404)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Genetic disorders remain. Any previously afflicted injury, including scarring, disappears, whether it was fatal or not. Genetic disorders remain. I couldn't specifically experiment with cardiovascular disease, but changes to the overall health of the body, such as being fat, aren't undone. So I'd guess if a demi-human died of clogged arteries, they'd revive, and then continue to be more prone toward a similar death until they modified their overall health.

It doesn't prevent or reverse aging, and hypothetically the only thing that can kill a demi-human is 'old age', though that's only going off of reports out of India.

The government never found out about me. But you can see why I wanted to keep it that way.
supraliminally: (calm -- fond look)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I see...

What about pain. Do you feel it normally? Do you have an instinctive death-aversion, like most humans? Or is that missing as well?
keijournal: (pic#11350804)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He takes a moment to think about this.]

I'm not the best measurement of instinctive death-aversion to begin with, and demi-humans can certainly overcome it, in any case. We still feel pain, but that can also be adapted to. It's hard to determine if the adaption is an inhuman ability or not. Obviously a human can't repeatedly lose the same limb to the point that they no longer flinch when it happens.

But if I had to guess... given the things I've seen them do, demi-humans quickly develop an inhuman pain tolerance.
supraliminally: (neutral -- deep in thought)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that's good. Well, I suppose it's to be expected, but still good to hear.
supraliminally: (neutral -- shittalking)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't mean to put too fine a point on it, but I suppose there's no point in being delicate with you. Obviously I have a vested interest in this matter beyond mere academic curiosity. I'm not going to condescend and lie to you by pretending not to have an agenda.
keijournal: (Dubious tho)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Takes a moment to think about this, he doesn't seem TERRIBLY stressed out but he's obviously. Disgruntled.

Then grumbles.]

If you torture me I'll never say a single word to you again, for as long as we're stuck here.
supraliminally: (calm -- eyes closed)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure we could work out something within your pain tolerance.

[ you know. going to GENTLY eat your flesh. ]
keijournal: (pic#11352025)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't died that many times, so my pain tolerance is normal. The only way to increase it is torture, and I'm not interested.
supraliminally: (amused -- talking)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
If it was quick enough, you'd barely feel it. Or I could drug you so that it didn't hurt, but I feel like you'd probably prefer to get it over with fast, right?
keijournal: (If you say so.)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
If I'm going to agree to this, I have rules. And if you don't follow them, we stop getting along.
supraliminally: (calm -- sweet smile)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ trying hard not to look too pleased but mostly failing ]

Of course. What rules, then?
keijournal: (pic#11356043)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
First. I assume you're capable of killing me and taking off a limb or two before I revive. That's how you're going to do it, I want to feel it as little as possible and I don't want you eating anything still attached.
supraliminally: (neutral -- maybe ??)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
That should be easy enough. And I can certainly make the actual death painless. Does the resurrection itself hurt?
keijournal: (Tell me more)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Not really, it feels weird and I wouldn't call it pleasant, but it's quick enough I don't care about that part.

Second. You can't eat my head or detach it from my torso.
supraliminally: (neutral -- blank look)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
No?

What about otherwise destroying any part of the brain, or severing the spine internally without full decapitation?
keijournal: (pic#11384420)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
As long as I don't regrow my brain, I don't care.
supraliminally: (neutral -- cute face)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Hhhhuh.

Have you ever done it before? Regrown your own brain, I mean.
keijournal: (Dubious tho)

[personal profile] keijournal 2017-07-07 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
No.

And I don't want to hear about how it's an illogical paranoia. I won't forgive you if you do it.
supraliminally: (neutral -- sprite)

[personal profile] supraliminally 2017-07-07 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm willing to accept that condition, but I reserve the right to make fun of you.
