[Okay, we've actually been doing that, yeah. Quiet Mounds is still a bit unpredictable, with the seasons and the clocks a little haywire. Today, there's another little pulse of magic. Maybe some of you find yourself back to normal? Or maybe more people are suddenly the wrong age or timeline. Maybe Deadpool shows up. I don't know.]

[squeezes his arm around Vasily, reassuring]

It killed . . . a lot of people. And then started spreading out into the city. It was sometimes a creature, sometimes just this blackness, and it . . .

[he holds his bare hands out, briefly showing Steve as black blotches appear on his skin, then fade]

Is that why—?

[takes Vasily's hands in his, holding them]

[he nods]

I can keep it from killing me by just constantly reversing it and regenerating, but I don't know how to get rid of it.

Vasily...

[cups his cheek in one hand, there's so much hurt in his expression and so much of a need to help]

[stares at him, wide-eyed and shaky]

I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I don't know how to even think about it.

[studies him for a moment before leaning in to kiss his forehead]

You told me now.

[shakes his head]

No one got hurt, right?

[flushes with a smile]

[his expression softens at that smile, and he touches Steve's cheek]

[leans into the touch, stroking his hand through Vasily's hair]

Was there anything else you wanted to know . . .?

[shakes his head]

Not right now. I might ask later? But I think I understand, for now.

[he swallows]

It wasn't . . . good, what I did to Fiero. But I didn't know what else to do.

[a nod]

You weren't trying to hurt him, you were trying to save people from the tragedy that you knew would come if something didn't change.

It seemed like he was still able to live his life, he could still find happiness in things.

Honestly, he seemed a lot better off than me in a lot of ways.
