WHAT SHENANIGANS
WHERE bed
WHEN 88...early....
[Hey someone is your bed!
Or you're in their bed!
Maybe several people are all in one bed.
How did they/you get there? Who cares? Maybe go back to sleep, or something else. You can't seem the leave the bedroom until dawn and there are a few hours to go.]

Not in the way that you're saying it where it sounds like a bad pick-up line from a sad clown magician.

[he gets up (yusuke is wearing actual pajamas, thank god)]
Very well. I believe you.

[stays where he is, just, hunched kind of tensely. He's not actually threatened but he is shades-less and pants-less.]

That's cleared up, then.
[he goes over to the nightstand where his paints are, and starts mixing them in a palette, like he's getting ready to start painting]

Watches this, perplexed.]
Are you... No, I got nothin'. What are you doing.

[sits on the bed to idk watch. It's kind of interesting; Dave's never seen another artist working. What does this mural look like. What else is on the wall. ]

[some parts of the mural are outlined in pencil, but only the top part has been painted in; it looks like some kind of grand stage, that also just happens to be covered in spikes of some kind? there are swirls of clouds with dark red lines in them and possibly it's snowing as well. there's a bunch of katanas embedded in the stage, some of them broken, but many of them pristine. and in the middle, there's a figure who looks absolutely ostentatious, like the most over-the-top kabuki actor you've ever seen, dramatic face paint and a gigantic pipe that is nearly the length of it, not to mention a pompadour that's to die for.
it's... it's something. there's elements of it that are clearly very abstract, but a heck of a lot of detail in certain places as well. it's clearly meant to pop out once it's finished, but for now the base outline is as far as he's gotten.]

... What are you painting.

[yusuke that was like, deliberately cryptic]

Honestly I don't know how into narrativizing personal development I am but if it works for you, that sounds pretty baller.

Thank you.

Sure.

I would offer you something, but I'm afraid my kitchen is barren, for the most part.

I could play you something.

I'm sort of learning piano; all of my finished stuff is electronic, some keyboard.
[digging out his phone and queueing up a song]

How avant-garde...! You are truly ahead of your time.

Dave's mouth does kind of quirk. TIME JOKES.]
Thanks. [Dave will go and and queue up more music] I don't know how much I want to brag about my old comics stuff; The concept was solid but lookin' back on it with the wisdom of mature adulthood it seems kind of transparent with its commentary.
