What kinda songs does a Bard sing?

Anything, really. We're practically addicted to music. Ballads are the usual court form, usually about events, whether historical, legendary, or current. But I know my share of dirty tavern songs.

I'd like to hear some of those, if you'd play for me. Though if you're looking for more, I'd be remiss if I didn't point you towards Johnny Cash.

What IS that string instrument?

That's a guitar. Think he's got a drum going in the background too.

That can't be a drum! I mean, it could be, I don't know about this place's instruments, but it sounds like the strings are hitting something. Maybe two string instruments and one is re-purposed for percussion? Hang on, I'm listening again.

I'm almost sure of it, you can hear a sort of crackle on multiple strings. I wonder what it is, that's brilliant. Is changing key between each verse a normal musical form in this style of music?

Figure there was some story behind it, but I can't recall it. Think he wrote it right after he got hitched.
