She locked me in a basket for 90 days with my hands tied behind my back in the hopes I'd die of thirst.

[reaches for his hand, squeezing it]

[squeezes back]

I lived thirty days longer than Vyzanians are supposed to live without food or water. [sighs] I don't mean to have issues over it, but really, who wouldn't?

I don't think anyone would hold it against you if something like that's changed the way you interact with the world.

I'm pretty confident about a lot of things. Other things, not so much.

[brushes his thumb over the back of Mikk's hand]

It's all right if you're not confident. We can work our way through things.

Mmm. [flops over onto Steve] I just wanted you to know where some of this was coming from.

[shifts to adjust, putting an arm around him]

Thank you. I'm glad you told me, Mikk.

[leans his head on Steve's shoulder, sighing] It's shitty.

It is, but it doesn't have to be that way forever.

I've got a lot of other things in my life, it's true.

You do.

It might not change the way things were, but we can still make things good the way they are now.

I know. I do believe that. I want a lot of things and — well, you know? If I wasn't willing to try I wouldn't have told you.

I'm glad that you did. That you're trying. You deserve to have the things you want in life, Mikk.

[wry] I like to think so. I've done pretty well for myself. With good support.

[leans up and kisses him lightly]

[oh. is this happening? Steve leans in, returning the kiss softly, a little hesitant waiting to see if he'll push it further]

[Mikk is fairly sure he ruined the mood, but it's a soft, lingering kiss, exploratory and gentle]

[it's a different mood than it was before, but that doesn't mean Steve's any less interested in having this. He reaches up to cup Mikk's cheek in one hand, parting his lips slightly, coaxing him just a little]

[laps into his mouth, letting out a sigh]

[gives a contented sound in reply, twisting his tongue with Mikk's, willing to let him deepen the kiss]

[shifts around to sit in Steve's lap, back bowing to kiss him since he's, you know, a tall boi]

[a very tall boy. Steve makes a bit of a startled sound against his lips, but quickly settles a hand back at the small of Mikk's back, holding him in, tilting up to keep kissing him]

[closes his eyes, kissing gently and trying to force himself to calm down again after talking about that]

[Steve is at least a very good kisser? he's dragging his fingers gently along the nape of Mikk's neck, soothing]

[shivers, breaking the kiss and resting his forehead against Steve's]

Memories are tiring.
