This is stating the obvious, but... the thing is, you're both stuck here. You want to figure out what the rest of us see in him so you can accept the situation, and that's good, but what if the opposite happened? What if the rest of us saw him the way you do?

Well, sure, it's not an ideal outcome. And personally, I think it's wildly unlikely to happen. But—
