The Gift is innate, but Bards are formally trained.

Exactly. There's a Collegium for it—the Bardic Gifts are fairly heavily regulated.

What other kind of Gifts are there?

Well, Empathy... Mindspeech, Farsight, Foresight, Fetching, Firestarting... [makes a slightly awkward face but:] the Mage Gift, which is where any real magic comes in... and various Wild Talents.

Yeah, it's not always related to music. It depends on the person.
