WHAT in person
WHERE the... cemetery?
WHEN day ""136""
[somewhere in cam... cour... uh, qm, there appears to be a new plot of land—some overgrown with weeds and other weed-adjacent plants, and some with towering oak trees and the like, and some with just perfect patches of freshly mowed and manicured grass...
also
there are tombstones every scattered all over this area, with the name of your father or father-figure on them, regardless of whether or not they are here or dead or here-dead.
yeeeeesh.]

... Yes. And our uncle.
no subject
Your uncle?

[nodding slowly. he thinks about what Strange told him about sharing too much information with soft cinnamon-roll peter.]
It is not a happy story. Would you still like to know?
no subject
... Yeah. If you want to tell.

Our uncle was stationed in America on a spy mission. It was not long before he saw the full extent of the inequality present. He could not stand to see so much suffering continue if Wakanda could have easily relieve it, and prevent it from happening further. He did not think my father would share his views.
[he has to pause, taking a deep breath and tensing his hands into fists before relaxing again. he's told this story so many times already, so much lately, but it never gets better.]

So - what happened? Did your father say no?
no subject
... there was a confrontation. [looking away instead of anywhere near Peter or the graves] My uncle was killed by his own brother, whether my father intended that or not. Furthermore, he choose to leave his young nephew behind, to hide what what had happened.
no subject
Did he have any other family? The nephew, I mean.
no subject
As far as I was able to determine, his mother passed away while incarcerated.
no subject
And your dad just left him there. Like that.
no subject
[without a beat] I do not think I will ever forgive him for it.
no subject
It's - it's pretty bad. Yeah. It's not the kid did anything wrong. And losing both your parents is bad enough to start with.
no subject
no subject
That's why you let him kill you like a billion times?
no subject
While I do not approve of his methods, I understand why he might think they're necessary.
no subject
I guess if I'd been abandoned like that then I might end up the same way.

I lost my parents, but - it was all in an attack, not something personal like that. The invasion. And I had my aunt and uncle to take care of me afterwards.
no subject
Even if it is not personal... I cannot imagine it was easy.
no subject
[ And now just his aunt, clearly. ]
no subject
I'm happy to hear that you had support.
no subject
He didn't. And your dad knew that.
no subject
I've been trying to let him know that he has mine, even if it does not make up for the past. Whether or not he finds a use for it.
