[So, you've been messing around with time.]

[Okay, we've actually been doing that, yeah. Quiet Mounds is still a bit unpredictable, with the seasons and the clocks a little haywire. Today, there's another little pulse of magic. Maybe some of you find yourself back to normal? Or maybe more people are suddenly the wrong age or timeline. Maybe Deadpool shows up. I don't know.]

How do they decide anything, then? Wouldn't that cause a lot of war?

You're not wrong about that. There's a lot of conflict. But they cooperate between themselves in the usual ways, too, through diplomacy, through treaties.

That seems like a very strange way of doing things. Very inefficient. Couldn't they do the same thing with a king and vassals, the way the other Realms do?

Well... there are a lot of them, and their lives are short, so it took them many generations to even have a good idea of the shape of their own world. They're still developing! But I'm really not an expert on Midgard's history. We could find you a book about it?

[ books! lights up ]

That would be most helpful! Midgard is so strange... For a Realm under Asgard's protection, we know so little about them.

A lot of the people who live here come from Midgard's future, so you can find out about their experiences firsthand, too. But let's start with a book. Although we should find your brother, soon.

People here can come in from any point in time. You and I have met here before when you're full-grown, even. So if you meet others who seem to know you, that's probably why. And that's why I'm not sure how old your brother will be when we find him. I know it's strange...
