Apparently I like small brunette human astrophysicists with many PhDs and Nobel Prizes. I have no idea, I've loved him forever. But I was such a fool for so long he grew to hate me, and now it's seeming like I'll never earn him back, not really. I'm sure he wishes I would hate him back, but I just can't, even after all the betrayals and lies.

I feel like if he was really that invested in having you hate him, it wouldn't be that difficult to make that happen. Maybe he doesn't have the stomach for that sort of thing, but it could mean he likes having love to hold over you. It can be pretty convenient.
