WHAT in person
WHERE akira's kickin bachelor pad
WHEN shortly after almost-baby-tantrums while the black umbrellas are falling
NOTES closed to akira & akechi / major spoiler warning for persona 5 / gay sex????
[how exactly do you introduce your former enemy to your apartment? in a strange town you suddenly showed up in, no less?
... well, it's convenient that the elevator brings them right to the front door.]
Here it is.

... well, it's convenient that the elevator brings them right to the front door.]
Here it is.

Less lived-in than the cafe, I assume?

once he's turned the knob, though, he's actually holding the door open for akechi. akira slumps against the side of the doorframe, waiting for him to pass through into the apartment.]
—After you.
[he inclines his head to prove he's serious, and smiles knowingly, as if at a not-so-private joke.]
We'd be in trouble if this place was as dusty, cramped, and old as the attic. Not to mention the chill.

[ he remembers enough about it from the few times he'd been there to say that much about it. there's a tip of his head at being let in before he steps forward, into the apartment, half taking in the sight and half listening to hear when Akira closes the door. ]

Is that supposed to be some kind of insult?
[but his voice is light.]
no subject
[ he absolutely would dare. and - - the thought does occur to him, that he has his gun and Akira is right there and he doesn't know if he has any means to try to defend himself, and his hand curls for a moment before he exhales and lets his fingers relax. ]
It's strange... You being the only one here who knows about me.
[ he settles with something that could sound vaguely threatening. ]

in those few moments where akechi considers, silence and an invisible, understated tension linger in the entryway, while their backs are turned to each other. it's as though this is on purpose, like he's testing to see if he'll be assaulted.
akira locks the door. the sound of it could be vaguely threatening.
he moves on. standing beside him, akira will try to meet his eyes. he may have a few multiple choice responses floating around like, "backhanded insults seem like your style", and "you're right, you're always polite", but he settles for something much better. genuine, too, which is important.]
Don't worry. I'm not going to blab anything to the whole world.

[ it's funny to be talking about trust from Akechi's mouth but he doesn't resist the urge too, pushing at Akira wherever he can, as if waiting to see the point at which he snaps and severes all ties with him. he meets his eyes readily now, more defenses built up, not caught off guard by Akira's straightforward replies as much anymore. ]

[oops, too... bad...? akira's smile holds, carefree, and he continues walking into the kitchen, which is close by.
if akechi follows him, he'll find a cute island counter surrounded by cabinets, the oven and so forth—akira poses behind it, thinking, with his fingers tangled in his hair.]
Well, I can't deny that at one point we may have let the showmanship go to our heads... but at the core, the calling cards were always for a purpose. We needed to capture people's attention for them to work.
[he waves an arm at the chairs lined up along the island.]
Please, sit.

it's for some reason sickening.
he flattens out his jacket with his hands as he sits, smoothing over the bump of the concealed gun. ]
And... Why do you feel I am exempt from your sense of justice? Why would you not raise a fuss over me?
no subject
and, of course, then he could slyly wink. which he does.]
I share a deep bond with you. I don't rat out my trusted confidants.
no subject
Your words are always very confident... But I highly doubt you trust me. I'd like to know why you would at all.

[he's hoping.
an observant eye will notice the fingers of one hand tensing slightly where they rest upon the edge of the counter, before akira busies himself with rummaging through the shelves and counter space searching for what he needs to make coffee.]
no subject
[ his tone is cool again, and the tenseness doesn't escape him. he's watching him a bit too carefully, in fact, half of him still wondering if something will get slipped into his coffee. ]
no subject
... How do you take your coffee, again?
[he doesn't place any unrecognizable bottles with skulls and crossbones on the label on the counter, at least.]
no subject
[ with the very purposeful qualifier. he still almost sounds distracted by watching him, answering him without thinking too deeply about what he'd actually enjoy. ]
