He was a student, I was a teaching assistant, and eventually took over as teacher after his original teacher became . . . indisposed?

Anyway, there's more to it. We hooked up, obviously, but then we got involved in a bit of a situation where it came out that I was a demon. Before that, I was keeping it under wraps for a long time.

So things were really changing for you as you got to know each other.

Yeah. In a lot of ways, for both of us. Which . . . I definitely hadn't changed for a long, long time, so all of it in a quick span was pretty—new.
