France is a country in Europe on Earth, and a lot of people think the French language sounds romantic. Vampires have a lot of different versions in folklore and pop culture, but most all of them drink blood.

Traditional vampire lore says they used to be humans, but they were either cursed or killed by a vampire, and rose as a vampire themself after death. There's a lot of modern variations, but they're still either originally human or a species close enough to be disguised as human.

There's the nerd answer and then there's the short answer. Short answer is they're mystical, pure creatures that look like a horse with a single horn. Sometimes they have cloven hooves or a lion's tail, but they're supposed to be the most beautiful and majestic there is.
