[The sun doesn't so much as rise as flick on with the sudden, glaring brightness of noon. Whatever time keeping device you have on you says its about 8:14am when this happens.

The power's back, but the time on your timekeeping device never really make sense with the position of the sun as it moves across the sky.]

That seems entirely reasonable. I hope your fridge isn't in too much of a puddle.

I'll have to turn those all into leftovers if they've thawed...! You're not supposed to refreeze frozen foods, right?

I have no idea, honestly... it isn't really an option at home.

Oh yeah, right. Well there's probably a chart for it somewhere. I know I've refrozen bread over and over.

I'm sure google knows.

Google absolutely will know. I don't know how I lived before googling.

It's so useful. I'm in love with it.

I assume you've found soundcloud and wikipedia and all that good stuff?

[personal profile] mindinthegittern 2017-08-30 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Not soundcloud. What's soundcloud?

Soundcloud and Bandcamp are both music-hosting sites. There's some mainstream stuff on there, but you get a lot of small time artists uploading their music too.

Oh! I definitely need to look those up. I've just been using YouTube.

YouTube's full to the brim with stuff, I'm not going to rip on YouTube, but you're missing a whole official side of the market. Spotify? Pandora? 8tracks? Do people still use 8tracks, probably.

Wait, wait, wait! Say those again!

Spotify and Pandora are two streaming services. Basically the same music libraries as far as I know, but different interfaces and recommendation algorithms. 8tracks is another online radio, but I haven't used it in ages. Amazon, iTunes, and Google all have their own things too now.

Glad to help! And if you see a vinyl record store, I dunno if we have one here, definitely check it out.
