[ Wherever you are there is a somewhat ominous ice cream truck nearby. Playing its ominous music. Driving slowly. If you try to approach though, it vanishes, leaving your fingers feeling weirdly sticky as if you had been eating the most delicious ice cream drumstick in your life.

and you crave ... something... what, well, that probably depends on the person, hm? ]

[hmm. you're such a worrying person right now. she's sticking close to him, not quite hovering but making sure he's in arm's reach just in case, taking it slow]

[walking a little closer, letting him lean as they head for the apartments]

[heading into the elevator and pushing the button]

You're not a vegetarian, right? Surely that's something I'd know about you.

[herding him into her apartment and onto the couch. her place is so nice! she didn't do anything super fancy with it but she keeps it all tidy and cozy, it looks like a real person lives here.]

Does that mean there's bacon?

[settling into the couch]

I'm not a diner, either. How do you want your eggs?

[man. now that he's on a couch though, his exhaustion really hits him and he kicks off his shoes and lies down, rubbing his palms over his eyes]

Oh, uh.. scrambled. Or over easy. I don't know. Surprise me.

[then belatedly]

[tossing a blanket throw onto him, still folded, so he can decide to use it or not, and heading into the kitchen.

and, in fact, she does have bacon as he will be able to smell momentarily when she starts frying it up.]

[his eyes are closed when he smells it]

[eyes still closed but smiling]

Yes, ma'am.

[a short while later she comes back over with a plate for him. bacon and eggs over easy and sourdough toast and a little cup with raspberries and blueberries in it. it's not artfully plated or anything but what do you expect. she doesn't say anything, just puts it down on the coffee table.]

[opening an eye, then the other when he sees the food]

Oh my god, suddenly a hole in my chest doesn't seem that bad.

You're not allergic to anything, are you?

If I am, I'm ready to die again finding out.

[digs in!]

Want something to drink? I always just get my coffee at your place these days, but I can make tea. ...or hot chocolate, I guess.
