[So how do you feel about getting into the holiday spirit? Because with all that wine around from the Bingo victories someone's put a sign up outside Heavenly Grounds today advertising a ~holiday party~ There's festive decorations with mulled wine, hot toddies, spiked egg nog. You name it, it's there to get you plastered.

And I guess there's cookies and fruit cake and stuff too, but who needs food when there's drinking?]

I just know better than to meddle with love and politics, and especially family politics.

Offering to teach me is hardly a political coup. The worst that would happen is he would ask me why I'm wasting my time.

[he chews his lip, grinning fondly at Waver, curious and his eye glittering.]

[he stands up, bracing himself with both hands on the table]

I'm going outside for a smoke. You coming?

[Thor hums, looking up at him, then gets to his feet too.]

[pret-ty steady as he makes his way outside, away from the doorway, lighting up a cigar. gestures, offering one]

[he brightens, taking the cigar.]

[lights his for him as well, then leans up against the wall, sighing]

We've been in a situation not dissimilar to this, before. Alexander and I. A situation where time was disrupted, taken away from my 'normal' world. There's enough differences that I wouldn't say 'been there done that,' or that anything is really applicable, just . . . once you realize that's the sort of thing that can happen, I think it changes your worldview.

[he pulls lightly on the cigar smoke, leaning back on the railing and exhaling slowly. He chuckles.]
