[So how do you feel about getting into the holiday spirit? Because with all that wine around from the Bingo victories someone's put a sign up outside Heavenly Grounds today advertising a ~holiday party~ There's festive decorations with mulled wine, hot toddies, spiked egg nog. You name it, it's there to get you plastered.

And I guess there's cookies and fruit cake and stuff too, but who needs food when there's drinking?]

[Tony notes the hand but doesn't pull away from it, sitting next to Steve and making a face at the news about Bruce]

There's no work he's doing that's more important than this. We should send Thor to drag him here.

[well. What if Steve shifts a bit, resting his arm over the couch just above Tony's shoulders.]

I'm giving him about ten more minutes before that happens.

[Tony isn't stopping that either, leaning into it just a little instead, though not acknowledging it]

If Thor drinks for another 10 minutes he might just carry Dr. Banner back over his shoulder.

Now that is something I'd pay to see.

[He takes another drink]

You might not have to.

[taking a sip of his drink and gesturing over at drunk Thor loudly talking at people]

[he grins, what a good Thor]

It's nice to see him having a good time.

I think he's had a good time pretty consistently since getting here.

Maybe not the whole time, but it does seem like it's better than the situation he came from.

[taking a drink]

Yeah, he and Loki are something else.

Loki's definitely...something.

[he pauses, taking another drink]

[shifting where he's leaning against Steve so he can look at him]

And that was loaded. What happened?

Nothing's happened.

He just doesn't like me.

[briefly studying his face, like he isn't sure Loki didn't say or do something]

He doesn't like anyone. Not at first.

[shakes his head]

I know it can't be easy for him, I guess I'm just not sure how to approach the situation.

How, would you say, you have approached it so far?

[he half shrugs, shifting with his arm still over Tony's shoulders]

I haven't been trying to antagonize him, if that's what you're asking. I've just been trying to understand him, to get to know him better.

[leaning into that, but still looking Steve in the face]

You will. But you aren't going to be able to force it.

[glances back, dropping his hand down to loosely hold him]

I guess it seems like every time I talk to him I feel like I can't escape what I did to you.

[actually looks a little guilty]

I had a lot of years to remind him about it.

I'm still the one who did it.

[a pause, he takes another drink]

Hey. We had a fight 50 years ago, then I never thought I'd ever see you again so I stayed mad about it for way longer than it deserved. That's it.

[resting a hand on his leg]

Okay?

[he smiles a little, squeezing against Tony's shoulder]

I'll be all right.

[giving him a look, because will it?]

Okay, so please don't waste this time that could be spent being a handsy drunk on water under the bridge. I beg you. For me.

[draining the rest of his glass]

I'm starting to think asking nicely is cheating the system.

[grinning up at Steve, pleased he seems to be letting the Loki thing go]
