WHAT in person
WHERE in the park
WHEN 61, daylight hours

[WHO LIKES SCRAP-BOOKING.

Hopefully you, because there are a lot of park tables out today, and they are covered with colorful paper, safety scissors, ribbon, and large binders.

And also Polaroid(TM) cameras.

The implication might be that you should take a picture of your friends and make some memories, sure that MIGHT work, but most likely what will happen is when you hold it up to your face the camera will replay your memories and you can click the shutter as many times as you want to capture that moment forever on film.

Of course, what memories you see is a bit... up in the air. Some cameras seem to faithfully play whatever you have on mind, others have a more specific focus: sexy memories, traumatic memories, humiliating memories... These independently minded/POSSESSED cameras are also likely to print photos regardless of anyone else's opinion on the matter.

The photos THEMSELVES appear to be pretty normal, at least.

Also, it's still fall, the wind is still a bit blustery. Make sure nothing embarrassing flies off.]

[ oh, yes, she is here for this. it's time for all her hard work and practice with her cell phone camera to pay off—

or at least that's what she thought until she'd picked one of the cameras up to fiddle with it. now— well, there's a mangled wreck of a camera a few feet away and some ripped shreds of paper that she clearly had absolutely nothing to do with, which is why she's got her back pointedly turned on it as she cautiously squints through the lens of another. ]

Why are things like this always so rude...

[You might run into Yukari sitting on a bench near the lake. She's got a stack of photos developing in a pile next to her, and is just sort of periodically taking selfies with one of those weird spooky cameras.

Alternatively, if you're not the sort of person who bothers random strangers, you might hear a shutter click from right behind you.]
clocked_out: (jesus get me a fucking pen)

[Dave is sitting kind of off and away with a camera. There are a few photos in his lap and a small pile next to him of photos that appear to have been torn into pieces. He is focusing on the camera a lot, like he's fine tuning for a perfect shot.]
agoodnoe: (An unmistakable shine.)

[ SOMEONE was allowed near the shiny new toys and looks absolutely ecstatic as he holds a camera against his face, peering through the hole. ]

My, I've never had the opportunity to see my own memories!

[ Someone teach this boy how to hold a camera so that it won't leave imprints on his face. ]

I’m glad someone is enjoying this.
agoodnoe: (His name is Frank.)

[personal profile] agoodnoe 2017-10-24 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's fascinating! The imagery is so clear!

[who knows what mob just saw but he is putting this camera and some photos into a trash can]

You like it?
agoodnoe: (Blasted from the past.)

[personal profile] agoodnoe 2017-10-24 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
I do! It's quite an amazing invention!

[he hasn't looked into any of them yet, so just assumes this is the usual nerdery]

Never seen a camera before either...?
agoodnoe: (And you said it's how big?)

[personal profile] agoodnoe 2017-10-24 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Is that what this machine is called? However do they manage to make it do this?
fastandloose: (017)

[personal profile] fastandloose 2017-10-24 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
...Looks like you've got quite a project goin' on there.

[she clearly has no idea what he's doing]

Hell if I know. That's old news, though, though I guess being able to print them right away is kind of convenient. Your phone can take pictures though, and even movies.
rightwingman: (show us you've earned it)

[personal profile] rightwingman 2017-10-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[he's only taken one picture, but]

Look! Look, it made a copy! That quickly!

[muttering to himself, sleeves rolled up as he methodically takes apart one of the cameras]

[. . . he also has an possibly-recognizable new tattoo on his hand]

What sorts of things are you seeing? I didn't spend much time looking through mine.
batonnet: (you're so mysterious)

[He materializes suddenly right next to Waver. Not that he's difficult for a magus to notice, even as an Assassin-class spirit. He's not good at the class skills part of Assassin.]

This is called reverse engineering, isn't it?
anoceanaway: (waver64)

[personal profile] anoceanaway 2017-10-24 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[he still jumps a little. but not, like, a lot]

It—should be, but the properties of this are being particularly—annoying!
batonnet: (I saw you driving your Prius)

[personal profile] batonnet 2017-10-24 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Is it not simply a camera? I was under the impression the technology was common in this era.

[Guess who hasn't tried out the cameras yet!]
agoodnoe: (I want to shove my face in it.)

[personal profile] agoodnoe 2017-10-24 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
I could print down what I am seeing right now?
anoceanaway: (waver114)

[personal profile] anoceanaway 2017-10-24 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
It has some kind of magical component. I just haven't been able to properly isolate it.
batonnet: (you're starting to bore me baby)

[personal profile] batonnet 2017-10-24 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Does it? . . . I'm afraid I won't be of any help there. But I'm curious as to how you discovered this. Can you sense it? Or did it malfunction?

Yeah, you just, point and click.

[reaches up to hit the button on the camera]
anoceanaway: (waver41)

[personal profile] anoceanaway 2017-10-24 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
[he picks up another non-dissected camera, handing it over]

Here. Give it a try.
